The truth that the fitness industry does not want you to know is that they survive exclusively by overcomplicating every process from losing weight to gaining weight, from the medical studies to the training methods. scle with the proper nutrients at times of rest. Therefore if you go to the gym every day for 3 hours straight at 90% intensity but don’t rest, it is all in vain. Now let’s focus on gaining weight or losing; if you want to lose weight, burn more calories than you take in while ensuring you don’t raise your heart rate to the point where you will catabolize your muscles. Trying to gain weight, eat more calories than you burn when exercising. Get good rest and eat healthy and you will achieve your goal.

THAT’S IT FOLKS… not very complicated. I could discuss good versus bad calories, but common sense dictates that eating 2000 calories worth of bacon grease versus 2000 calories of a mixed salad will have substantially different results. Once again, keep it simple stupid, and just eat healthy. Now how much money can you make off of the aforementioned statement… Absolutely none! Not including weight gain, weight training, and general fitness, the weight loss industry is over a 100 billion dollar industry! Instead fitness companies offer hundreds of diets, thousands of work out programs, and ten of thousands of supplements, each claiming to be better than the other.
Like anything else in life, most good things do not come easy and require hard work. The two biggest problems are people’s goals are far off base and they don’t want commit the time and intensity required to reach these goals. Often these same people read enthusiast lifting magazines that have more worth as toilet paper on a camp site than as reading material, and set their expectations way to high. Rookie Error #1: When exercising never compare yourself to anyone else. You should concentrate on yourself only because each body has a unique genetic and chemical structure. Set reasonable goals and hold yourself accountable.

Truth be known, the majority of people set outlandish goals and spend more time using the gym as a social arena versus a fitness center. Then we have the people that don’t break a sweat but stay in the gym for two hours thinking they are hard core but end up scratching their head when they see poor results. The truth is that a person can burn as many calories in 30 minutes as a person doing so in 3 hours; it’s all based on intensity. No matter what a person does, whether it is drinking cold water or sprinting on a tread mill you are burning calories. Now it is up to the person to choose the method that most efficiently burns calories, this can only be done through trial and error; there is no generic right or wrong way. Once again, the body is unique; where some exercises work well for one person might be a waste of time for another. For example, my work out routine has no cardio (besides warm up) in it. Instead while I lift I utilize super-setting or circuit training with very short breaks as a method to constantly keep my heart rate up in fat burning stage.
